2018 Community Outreach Conference

April 9, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Building Hope Today Foundation is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Community Outreach Conference. Our aim is to mitigating the numbers of children that will experience the unfortunate acts of sexual abuse and to forward the agenda of healing and wholeness for adults and families that have been impacted by childhood sexual abuse. Founded by Idaho businessman, Matt Morgan, to advocate for childhood victims of sexual abuse, the foundation addresses a variety of needs that remain largely unfulfilled due to the suppression, shame and heartbreak that typically surround those events. National statistics say 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before the age of 18.

Inspired by Matt’s own remarkable journey and the growing awareness of Idaho and the Nations need for clearer paths to justice, greater resources for healing, and better education on the signs that a child may have come under the influence of the malicious act of “grooming,” by an offender.

In June of 2017, Building Hope Today launched its first annual BHT Community Outreach Conference as a new 501c3 Foundation. The event gathered 800 community members from South East Idaho. With our community’s positive and embracing response came requests for BHT to share its message to the Treasure Valley and throughout all of Idaho’s communities. This first event proved to spark a tremendous amount of long overdue constructive dialogue and progressive conversation that extended throughout Idaho and far beyond our borders. We wanted to share a few comments that came to us post 2017 event.

  • “I had held on to shame for the last 17 years. I learned it wasn’t my shame. It wasn’t my fault what happened to me. ”  CM
  • “I was truly shocked at the number of adults who had been victims as young people” EH
  • ” I felt empowered and ready to be proactive about my own healing” CR
  • “I wasn’t aware of the toll on victims with relationships and addictions. ” DH
  • “Tonight gave me the strength to carry on; I felt so alone”
  • “The impact on my wife was so great that it changed everything in our home In Regards to parenting”
  • “THANK YOU, You gave me the strength to finally share my past with my family” KW

Our April 9, 2018 event attendees will be local and state officials and organizations including our Ada County Prosecutors Office, Treasure Valley Law Enforcement, City and County Community Leaders, Educators, Health Care Providers and several non-profits such as the Boise Rescue Mission, Faces of Hope and Cares Victims Center. Seats are also reserved for those in the public sector who’ve become compelled to join this conversation in the wake of our National intolerance that is building against Sexual Abuse of our Children.

The Building Hope Today Foundation is honored for the opportunity to bring Idaho and National influencers together in order to acknowledge our progress in the care of our state and nations children. To share our BHT charter in what we know will have a substantial cultural impact in creating a safer, brighter and healthier tomorrow for our children.
