2025 Conference

The Idaho Council on Domestic Violence & Victim Assistance (ICDVVA) and Building Hope Today are proud to partner on our second joint conference!  

Description

The Idaho Safety & Resilience Conference brings together multidisciplinary team professionals working in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, and human trafficking to share knowledge and data and facilitate collaborations that will strengthen systems and enhance services for victims of crime in Idaho.

Attendance is typically 500 +/-. The conference focuses on practice and is not academic in nature.

The conference planning committee is committed to including diverse participation and perspectives to provide insights and highlight innovative approaches to meet the needs of crime victims and the agencies and systems providing victim services.

Location & Dates

The Riverside Hotel (2900 W Chinden Blvd, Garden City, ID 83714).
Tuesday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 4, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (Mountain Time) daily.

How to Submit a Proposal

USE THE CALL FOR PROPOSAL FORM TO PITCH A SESSION CONCEPT (below this section).

MORE INFO

Proposals do not require a fully developed session. The Call for Proposal Form asks a few brief questions to describe the topic, its relevance to the conference session tracks, what attendees will learn from the session, and will provide additional information about the presenters, their affiliation, presentation experience, contact information, and the fee(s) (if any) required by the speaker(s).  If you are submitting multiple session proposals, you must complete a Call for Proposal Form for each conference session.

REQUIRED ITEMS

All proposals MUST include the following:

  • Complete the Call for Proposals online form (below).
  • Email a headshot and brief bio (limit 100 words) to [email protected].
OPTIONAL ITEMS

Proposals MAY include the following:

  • Copies and/or links to recordings of previous presentations by the speaker.
EVALUATION OF PROPOSALS

Conference planning committee members will review and evaluate proposals using the following criteria:

  • Topic supports a conference session track.
  • Originality, timeliness, and relevance of topic.
  • Advances knowledge/approaches to serving victims of crime and represents best practice.
  • Presenter(s) knowledge and experience.
  • Whether training on the same/similar topics has recently been offered to our intended conference audience.
Important Dates & Information

Please complete the form below, and send the required documents to [email protected] by February 17, 2025.
Notification of Selection is anticipated by March 3, 2025.
Conference dates are June 3 and 4, 2025.

Presenter Responsibilities
  • Please do not list co-presenters without their consent and commitment to participate.
  • Selected presenters must sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
  • The Conference Committee reserves the right to revise presentation titles and/or edit session descriptions for publication.
  • Presenters will be required to upload PowerPoint presentations and other supporting materials before the conference by future deadlines (dates TBD).
